The Janitor performs janitorial duties in accordance with Cascade Aerospace policies and procedures.

“This position belongs to the bargaining unit and shall abide by all rules and regulations began within the labor contract . The hours of labor are going to be provided upon the successful completion and determination of all permanent shift transfers."

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• Strive to consistently act during a manner during which reflects Cascade Aerospace’s culture and values, and Human Resources' safety and security policies and procedures;
• Ensure all daily and weekly janitorial tasks are completed in accordance with Cascade Aerospace’s policies and procedures;
• Make daily rounds and make sure that all offices, washrooms, hallways and hangers are in order;
• Clean urinals, toilets, sinks and floors in washrooms daily and ensure all washrooms are sufficiently stocked towels, soap and toilet accessories;
• Fix small repairs on toilets, sinks, dispensers, and other small items as required;
• Empty all garbage bins within the building daily;
• Clean and sweep hangar floors and pack up oil and chemical spills when required;
• Clean lunchrooms daily including, tables, chairs, ashtrays, counter tops and spot clean walls and woodwork when required;
• Clean and vacuum office floors, reception area and hallways including stripping and waxing linoleum floors;
• Dust office equipment and furniture and draw up materials when required;
• Wash walls, doors, windows and handrails;
• Recycle pop cans and other items from offices and general areas;
• Perform other duties as needed .

CORE SKILLS

• Excellent communication skills verbal and written English;
• Friendly disposition and skill to figure independently with little supervision;
• Thorough knowledge of WHMIS;
• Good work ethic with proven good attendance and punctuality;
• Availability to figure a spread of shifts;
• Ability to be flexible and adaptable to change;
• Knowledge of proper sanitization procedures;
• Good fitness and skill to lift over 50 lbs.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

• Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent;
• Building Services Worker Certificate an asset;
• 1-2 years experience performing cleaning and janitorial duties;
• 1-2 years experience and training using sort of cleaning equipment.
